Shubhi had the kind of wedding dreams are made of – a destination wedding in Jaipur!
She got married last December during a two-day wedding affair at Le Meridian and Fairmont, Jaipur. Her courtship period was quite short, which meant limited time to plan the wedding. Her mehendi function was planned to be a small, cosy affair of 50-70 guests. But as it happens so often in Indian weddings, it ended up being a 250-300 people function! Shubhi had not planned for an outfit that would be apt for an occasion of this size, and with limited time on her hands, she couldn’t possibly head out and look for a whole new outfit. So she did what every smart bride does when you suddenly need a bride-worthy ensemble for a small wedding function – she raided her trousseau!
And this is what she came up with –
Shubhi bought this anarkali with lehenga (yes, it’s both!) from designer duo team Kavita-Vanita. It was ready-made and originally bought for her trousseau. “Kavita-Vanita were showcasing their new collection in Hauz Kauz and I just went to have to look. I ended up picking this piece, along with 3 others!” says Shubhi. Once she realised she needed a new Mehendi outfit – stat! – she chose to wear this one thinking it would be nice, simple and fresh for a morning function; and it turned out to be a fabulous choice!
Her makeup was done by Affinity – “Their team of 10 came with us to Jaipur to do hair and makeup for the entire wedding of about 150 people”, says Shubhi. And the beautiful photographs were shot by Sindhur Reddy, a Bangalore-based photographer. According to Shubhi, “Sindhur is a fabulous photographer and a very helpful person . Even 10 months after the wedding he helps me with anything and everything I need from him!”
