The Best Saris & Suits at Lakme Fashion Week S/R 2015

Best saris and suits anarkalis at Lakme Fashion Week Summer Resort 2015

I’ve been staring at my laptop continuously for the last 5 days non-stop. Lakme Fashion Week just wrapped up last night, and with all the live-streaming on YouTube and press releases in my inbox, I’m just about ready to go on vacation now. A vacation from my laptop. For, like, a day. Because Amazon India Fashion Week starts in 2 days. Ah, the relaxed blogger life :p

I’ve already written about my favourite show from all of LFW this season: Anushree Reddy. But the other designers weren’t far behind with drool-worthy outfits. Of course, I went through videos and pictures of all 45 shows to save you some precious time you can now utilize on more important things – like planning your wedding, going for a run, watching the latest Grey’s Anatomy episode…whatever floats your boat, really.

My Best Friend’s Wedding: 18 Days To Go & I Still Don’t Know What I’m Wearing

If you haven’t yet, read the first two posts from this series – Prologue & Chapter 1 – before you get started with this post.

My Best Friend's Wedding 18 Days To Go And I Still Don't Know What To Wear

Panic is slowly, but surely, making it’s way into my mind. I have bits and pieces figured out, but not a single look is a 100% done. This is what I’ve figured out till now –

On Mehendi

DECIDED! 🙂 All the way from the outfit, the earrings and the exact bangles I’m going to have on.

Footwear is the only part of the look that’s still a big fat questions mark. I need to buy pretty jootis. Continue reading “My Best Friend’s Wedding: 18 Days To Go & I Still Don’t Know What I’m Wearing”

Trousseau Week 2013: The Fashion Show!

trousseau week 2013 the fashion show

I was in Bangalore last month for Trousseau Week, where I covered the wedding exhibition and created a Bride’s Guide for those of you who wanted to visit it. The night before the exhibition began, UB City was filled to the brim with people attending the Trousseau Week fashion show. Of course, we’ve got you all the action from the front row! Well, not exactly front-front. More like, front-side 🙂 Continue reading “Trousseau Week 2013: The Fashion Show!”

Editor’s Picks: Anita Dongre on IndianRoots

Remember when I wrote about the Anita Dongre bridal wear store in Mumbai? I got a ton of queries from brides asking if the collection was available outside Mumbai as well. For Delhi brides, some bridal wear pieces might be available at the Saket & MG Road AD stores, but for the most part – if you don’t live in Mumbai, getting your hands on an Anita Dongre bridal outfit was a tough task.

Not anymore.

Those of you who live outside Mumbai, or even outside India, can now order yourself an Anita Dongre bridal outfit from Indianroots.com – one of the newest e-railers for designer-wear (whom I also guest blog for!) They have the largest AD collection I’ve seen anywhere on the world wide web, and

IndianRoots also has the best rates!

Yes, some of the lehengas are actually 20-30k cheaper on IndianRoots Continue reading “Editor’s Picks: Anita Dongre on IndianRoots”

Top 10 Looks from Madhuri Dixit’s Trousseau

Top 10 from Madhuri Dixit Nene Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa season 6 outfits

Do you watch Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa? I generally don’t, but this is one of the many side-effects of being hitched (and I’m learning, there are many!) Post-wedding, the breadth of TV shows and channels that are permissible on your Favourites button (if you have Tata Sky) will suddenly increase.

Colors TV is the newest channel I have taken a half-forced half-voluntary liking to, and if there’s one thing that didn’t disappoint was the beautiful Indian wear! If you’ve seen Jhalak this season (they aired their last episode recently), you must’ve noticed Madhuri Dixit-Nene’s gorgeous clothes. She’s a judge on the show, and has worn some seriously trousseau worthy outfits that I’ve loved. Here are my Continue reading “Top 10 Looks from Madhuri Dixit’s Trousseau”

Wedding Wardrobe: Anuja

thedelhibride Wedding Wardrobe Anuja

I watched “Connected” recently, a wedding video trailer by the very talented videographers – The Wedding Filmer. Their videos usually take me on a fantasy trip where every scene is filled with love & happiness. This time though, it wasn’t just the love that made me sit up & take notice. What caught my eye was the bride’s beautiful outfits! I only caught a glimpse of them in the video, and I knew I wanted more. So off I went and contacted Anuja, the bride, who was more than happy to share all the details (and photos!) about her wedding wardrobe with us, along with a very important lesson she learnt along the way – “Don’t go shopping with someone who loves you too much!” Wondering what that means? Read on, girls!
