Everything that has been made in India is being promoted under this campaign for the last few months, and of course, the biggest fashion designer names have found a prominent place on the pride-inducing list. There have been a handful of fashion shows to showcase the best of what designers have been making here locally, and Anita Dongre was the only one to have an entire fashion show solely dedicated to her wedding wear creations. What did that mean for the brides of India? A show full of beautiful gota patti lehengas and jackets to add to your trousseau wish list! It’s a bride’s lucky week, isn’t it? Loving Anita Dongre’s Love Notes | A look at the best of her new collection

It doesn’t serve anyone for me to repeat what I’ve already said over a dozen times on the blog, so I will spare you the details of my love for the designs Anita Dongre creates. What’s new, though, is her summer wedding collection that’s written like “Love Notes” to another lucky generation of brides, grooms and wedding guests. The collection was showcased on the ramp at Lakme Fashion Week Summer Resort 2016, and her Love Notes jumped at me like a fresh spring breeze that smelled of bougainvillea and felt like mulmul.

She stuck to her traditional Rajasthani roots with her signature gota patti embroidery, but added another dimension with bougainvillea prints and resham threadwork.

I know, I know. There’s been a lot of “Best Of” posts lately. Technically, they are the “Best Picks”, so what else do you want me to call them?! Ugh. #bloggerwoes

After Amazon India Couture Week and BMW India Bridal Fashion Week, there was one weekend us bloggers got a chance to breathe (because AICW and BIBFW were back to back!) This blogger of yours, though, did not breathe enough that Independence Day weekend. It was spent thoroughly enjoying late nights and hectic days…with friends. Followed by a trip to Mumbai for work (post coming up next!) which then led to…illness. Yes, I’ve been sick. For a whole week. And I’m still only starting to get better, it feels. I’m exhausted, cranky, sleepy, achy all the time. Maybe I was overworked. I don’t know. I don’t want to talk about it.

Best of Vogue Wedding Show 2015

THE Vogue Wedding Show kicked off in Delhi this Friday, and if you’re wondering – was it really worth attending? – the answer’s a resounding yes. Of course, it’s a luxury wedding exhibition, so we expected nothing but the best-in-the business designers and jewellery makers at Taj Palace Hotel.

If you still didn’t get it, that’s Shahid Kapoor, the cutie patootie heartthrob of girls all over India. He’s getting married. TODAY. Cue: a million hearts shattering.

Yes, the day is already here. And…I…*deep breath*…can’t…*deep breath*…believe it. *faints*

Well alright, alright – I’m married already. I’m off the market. Whatever. I can still love Sasha. He could’ve been mine too, you know. Today could’ve been my wedding day! (sorry, hubby!)
