It doesn’t serve anyone for me to repeat what I’ve already said over a dozen times on the blog, so I will spare you the details of my love for the designs Anita Dongre creates. What’s new, though, is her summer wedding collection that’s written like “Love Notes” to another lucky generation of brides, grooms and wedding guests. The collection was showcased on the ramp at Lakme Fashion Week Summer Resort 2016, and her Love Notes jumped at me like a fresh spring breeze that smelled of bougainvillea and felt like mulmul.
She stuck to her traditional Rajasthani roots with her signature gota patti embroidery, but added another dimension with bougainvillea prints and resham threadwork.
There was plenty to love in the 60+ outfits that made their way down the ramp… Continue reading “Loving Anita Dongre’s Love Notes | A look at the best of her new collection”
It’s fashion week season! While we wait to hear the verdict on Lakme Fashion Week Summer Resort 2016 that kicked off last night, a few designers (both big and small) have decided to launch their collections off the biggest runways. This is the first in a series of posts about new collections to look forward to as we bring in the summer of 2016. If you want to have a look at our favourites from Amazon India Fashion Week Autumn Winter 2016, I’ve uploaded the best outfits onto a Facebook album (instead of an entire post on the blog about it that we typically do every season). Back to Sue Mue’s latest…
Sue Mue is a little known designer wear store in Delhi’s Green Park market. Why is this a market you’ve probably not heard of if you live outside Delhi? Because it’s typically reserved for visits to buy groceries, get a haircut or grab a quick meal at one of the handful of eateries located here. Nothing to talk about, really.
But sitting comfortably in the centre of this South Delhi market is Sue Mue, a designer wear store that looks enticing from the outside but will give any bride second thoughts about entering to do some serious wedding shopping. Why? Because you’d wonder – what could a Green Park store possibly have to offer that’s worth a visit?
As it turns out, a lot more than you can imagine. Continue reading “This Delhi Designer’s Summer Couture Collection is Incredibly Gorgeous!”
Masaba Gupta got hitched this weekend (here’s the whole story), and a couple of her “slightly” famous friends were in attendance. Who? Oh, you know, just Shahid, Sonam, Alia, Kangana…no biggie, really.
Famous or not, some of the celebrity guests came very well-dressed, and gave us some major wedding fashion inspiration.

I’M IN LOVE!
I recently fell for a little romance. It was a love so deep, I was most tempted to trade in my husband for…oh, I couldn’t choose which one! The lilac lehenga, or the pale blue gown…or that fiery red anarkali?
It was near-impossible to choose ONE, I’ll tell you that.
No prizes for guessing what I fell in love with – Shyamal & Bhumika’s new collection of the most delicately beautiful Indian wear, fittingly titled “A Little Romance”. With all the romantic hues of fiery red love to pale blues and soft lilacs, it’s a dreamy collection for the princess bride.
Breath-taking, gorgeous, stunning – even these sound like a bit of an underestimation to describe the sheer beauty of it all. The designers categorise this collection as “vintage and period couture with a timeless elegance. The designs will make heads turn, and it’s something out of the ordinary for your special day.”
I loved more than a dozen pieces, and put them all together for you to browse at leisure. The remaining 40 odd outfits from the collection, including pre-draped saris, lehengas, anarkalis and gowns are available right after the Top Picks.

THE Vogue Wedding Show kicked off in Delhi this Friday, and if you’re wondering – was it really worth attending? – the answer’s a resounding yes. Of course, it’s a luxury wedding exhibition, so we expected nothing but the best-in-the business designers and jewellery makers at Taj Palace Hotel.
We spent a whole day at Vogue Wedding Show, and covered every inch of it. Not a single stone unturned. Here are the stalls we loved and our favourite pieces from the show! Continue reading “Best of Vogue Wedding Show 2015”

Namrata is a December 2015 bride, who is tying the knot in Mumbai and having 2 receptions – one in Kolkata and the other in Dehradun! She has a 2 States story – she is from Orissa, and her groom is from Uttarakhand. She lives in Mumbai, he lives in Delhi. Wedding planning is alien territory to her, what with her mainly having spent her life inside the IIT Bombay campus where 90% weddings take place in the campus guest house. From negotiating with wedding vendors to attending exhibitions and exploring lehenga stores, she has taken up the task of planning her budget wedding all by herself and blogs about it at Frugal2Fab. In today’s post, she shares her notes on Sutra by Marriage Mantra, a wedding exhibition she visited yesterday in Mumbai.

Let’s talk about the elephant in the room.
Yes, I’ve not been writing too many posts. BUT, although I may be a bit MIA (understatement of the century, I know!) from the blog, there’s a LOT happening behind the scenes – everything blog-related and everything wedding-related. So just calm down, women. I’m not going anywhere! I’m just gathering enough “data” to give you better and better posts! And if you reallyreallyreally wanna know what’s been up, I’m posting on Instagram daily for my #365grams project where I share what’s happening every single day this 2014 – so follow me there if you want to be in the loop.
Of course, my guest posts for other websites must continue, so here’s the latest one –
I wrote a post for POPXO (previously, eStylista) on the best markets in Delhi to shop for bridal wear from. This one should work as a quick guide for anyone who doesn’t know much about Delhi Continue reading “The 4 Coolest Markets In Delhi For Your Bridal Fix”
I visited Hauz Khas Village for a meeting today, and of course, once the meeting was over I couldn’t stop myself from taking a look at the latest collection at some of my favourite stores. I would’ve visited many more, but it was raining and there were puddles forming all around at a rather rapid … Continue reading Hauz Khas Village Favourites Revisited
