The days leading up to the wedding were chaotic. But in the midst of all this chaos, I was meeting the groom every single day! He’d come over for Sangeet practice, we’d head over to the market to buy a gift for him for Sagan (we bought gifts according to the recipients’ choice, which basically means that I picked my own gifts and he picked his) – we were meeting non-stop! Finally, on the last Wednesday before the wedding, he came over for his final dance practice. Starting tomorrow, he would need to attend to the guests in his own house. People in my house started teasing us, saying that the bride and the groom should not meet for a few days before the wedding! I knew he wouldn’t make it for the final dance practice on Thursday night, but there was still a window of hope…
We had scheduled our pre-wedding shoot for Thursday morning – yup, on the very last day we could possibly meet! Originally, we had hoped to do a photoshoot at places that meant a lot to us – our school, markets we’d meet at. But planning out for the shoot was so last-minute (yup, I truly failed to plan for this one) that we ended up picking a pretty location the photographer (Tarun Chawla) recommended – Humayun’s Tomb, followed by Khan market.
We were supposed to wake up REALLY early, and reach the location by 6.30 am. What ended up happening – I was still trying to wake up the groom at 6.30 am! He was not picking up his phone, he was so deep in slumber! I finally ended up calling his landline, waking up his mother(!) but we managed to reach the location by 7.30 am. The point of reaching so early was to capture some pictures in the morning light – when the sun is coming up, there is this really pretty golden glow you can get in pictures. Well, we still managed to get some of those. Here are just a few of my favourites (there were many, many more but it’s not possible to upload SO many!)

I read your wedding bells diaries again, today. Very beautifully written.
You explained everything but I believe you have missed the most important part, “How You Met Your Husband”.
Please put a post on your love story. Please 🙂
