UPDATED!!! The wedding photography team, Stories by Joseph Radhik, decided to share EVEN MORE pictures from Masaba Gupta’s Wedding! We’ve added our favourite pictures AND more reasons to love the wedding!
Masaba Gupta was the coolest bride. Ever.
Need proof?
She wore THIS to her Engagement.
YUP! Does it look like she gives two hoots about what you have to say about her Bridal Look?
That’s what made me fall in love with Masaba Gupta’s wedding.
She’s one of the hottest talents in the Indian fashion industry, yet her wedding wasn’t about to be another cliché big fat Indian wedding with a stressed out bridezilla driving everyone crazy.
She was cool. Like, seriously cool. And the wedding? Was da bomb.
These are a few of my favourite things!
#1 A Court Marriage Followed By A Wedding Weekend
The bride and groom (Mr Madhu Mantena) got hitched at a civil ceremony 5 months before their weekend-long celebrations with friends and family
- Thursday: Bridal Shower
- Friday: Mehendi
- Saturday: Sangeet
- Sunday: Reception
I LOVE weekend weddings – they’re so convenient. I wish everyone had them. Kuch seekho!
#2 The Bride’s Stunning Neckpiece At Her Bridal Shower
This Nirav Modi neckpiece dazzled on the bride, and since it was paired with a super simple (and dare I say, not particularly “bridal”) outfit, it was just right. Masaba knows it’s all about the balance. Don’t you, Masaba? *air kisses*
#3 The Floral Tiaras on the Girls At The Bridal Shower

#4 How The Bridal Shower Included ALL Her Loved Ones!
Images courtesy: Anushka Ranjan & Masaba Gupta
Everyone from the men in her life to her mother’s generation was a part of the bridal shower celebrations. I don’t know how she managed to do this (What games did they play? What did the boys do?), but I’m sure it tripled the fun factor.
#5 The Offbeat Bridal Style On Her Mehendi (and what the Groom wore!) **NEW Pictures!**
Images courtesy: Stories by Joseph Radhik
The bride wore white. WHITE! So brave. No, not because it’s a colour brides don’t wear on their weddings (aap kis zamane ke ho?), but because #MehendiStain?
Well, despite my worries, everything turned out ok 😉 The bride looked radiant in her simple white and gold kurta (that she designed for herself), and her pink pout paired with it beautifully. Let’s not forget the groom who also kept it simple with an emerald green kurta. I just LOVE the colour. Don’t you?
#6 The Bride’s Minimalistic Mehendi

Continuing to do AS SHE PLEASED. I LOVE brides like her! *huggg*
#7 Minimalistic Decoration at Mehendi Venue: Bride’s Home! **NEW!**
Images courtesy: Stories by Joseph Radhik
When you decorate your home for your Mehendi ceremony, pick these tips from Masaba’s Mehendi. She celebrated it at her Juhu home, and just used a limited amount of genda phool in orange and yellow. That’s it. You don’t need more! #MinimalistDecor FTW!
#8 The Bride’s Light & Comfortable Sangeet Lehenga
Images courtesy: Stories by Joseph Radhik
Simplicity. Beauty. Comfort.
Masaba Gupta had mentioned in an earlier interview that comfort would play a significant role in the outfits she picked, and that she wanted to dress in a way so that she could “interact with people and have a good time herself!” True to her word, Masaba’s Raw Mango by Sanjay Garg lehenga in pink looked jealousy-inducing comfortable. The unattached dupatta that she casually draped over her shoulders was thrown off intermittently to get onto the stage and dance. How utterly convenient!
#9 What The Groom Wore To The Sangeet

I’m in love with mint green Indian wear on men. Mr Madhu nailed it in this mint green jacket with gold buttons.
#10 What The Bride’s Mother Wore To The Sangeet

I can’t seem to find a full-length image of this anywhere, but it was a brilliant choice of colour, and matching the border of your sari with your daughter’s outfit? Genius.
#11 How Crazy The Sangeet Was **NEW Pictures!**
There was a cutout of the groom wearing a dhoti making its rounds on the Sangeet dance floor, and people were clicking even crazier pictures with it!
And Kangana Ranaut dressed on a Sridevi song, dressed as Sridevi!

#12 That She Understood How Important It Is To Hire A (real) Candid Photographer **NEW Pictures!**
Because he doesn’t miss shots like these…
And captures bridal portraits like this…

#13 The Cute Wedding Invite **NEW Pictures!**
Images courtesy: Vogue
I don’t have any details of this at the moment. I just know it looks pretty funky! Were these wedding-invites-cum-coasters? And the M | M monogram was used throughout the wedding – it was seen on the backdrop of the dance stage on Sangeet night, and at the bar during the Reception.

#14 Shahid Kapoor. **NEW!**
Yes, he’s reason enough to love a wedding! Looks like Shahid is a very close friend of Masaba’s, and these are ALL the pictures I could find of him at the wedding. He continues to kill us softly with his cuteness. Warning: the last one might break your heart a little.

#15 How Incredibly & Truly COOL The Bride Was **NEW Pictures!**
She wore this on her Engagement.
THIS to her bridal shower.
Danced unabashedly at her Sangeet.

AND TROLLED HER OWN RECEPTION OUTFIT!!!
Yes, she made fun of her own Reception outfit. It was by Anamika Khanna, and from the looks of it, the designer had a slightly different vision for what it should look like but Masaba suggested some changes. The bride owned up to her mistake, and instead of going nuts over how awkward the outfit looked, she took it in her stride and #trolled it before anyone else could! *bows down so low nose touches ground*
These are some more pictures of her outfit, which was quite a pretty Anamika Khanna lehenga with cape, except for those “booblets”, in the bride’s own words 🙂

To be totally honest I didn’t like Masabas outfits at first glance but I have gone back a few times now to look back at them. My favourites are her engagement and sangeet outfit.
