Beauty Review: A Relaxing Pre-Bridal Spa at Zehen

…or as I like to call it “The Day I Achieved Inner Peace. Almost.”

If you’re looking for a great pre-bridal treatment in the city of Delhi that sucks out all the wedding planning stress from your body and leaves you relaxed, happy and healthier, I might have found THE ONE.

You’ll find it in a wellness centre in New Friends Colony, inside a hotel called The Manor.

Entering Zehen

As I walk through the archway leading to Zehen Wellness Centre, I realize no one would’ve imagined such a beautiful piece of zen-like heaven lies in the heart of dusty, noisy New Delhi.

Zehen looks like a world of its own. The reception lobby is serene, and I meet Meghna, the friendly manager, who begins chalking out my plan for the day. The pre-bridal package typically takes place over a course of 3 days, but they’re packing all of it into a single 5-hour-session for me.

I follow Meghna as she takes me on a walk around the property, and soon start to realize that this is anything but “just another spa”. Zehen takes a holistic approach to wellness, and the spa is just one piece of the puzzle. Continue reading “Beauty Review: A Relaxing Pre-Bridal Spa at Zehen”

10 Secrets I Learned at The Wedding Filmer Workshop + A Giveaway Worth ₹10,000!

You can find out when the next workshop is happening here – you can register at the same link, and get date and venue details as well.

The Wedding Filmer Delhi workshop review #ClassroomOfLove

I’m a HUGE fan of The Wedding Filmer’s work. I’ve said it before, I’m getting tired of saying it, but I will still say it again for the benefit of those who have been living under a rock the last 3 years – they’re the best wedding videographers in the world. THE BEST. No doubt about it. So last year, when they decided to hold their very first workshop, I knew I had to attend it. They were going to teach Delhi-ites a thing or two about creating world-class wedding videos, or “films”, as they like to call them. I took a seat, crossed my legs…and my fingers. I was hoping this workshop wasn’t all-hype-no-content. What if they didn’t actually reveal any secrets? Was I just wasting a perfectly good September evening?

I needn’t have kept my fingers crossed.  Continue reading “10 Secrets I Learned at The Wedding Filmer Workshop + A Giveaway Worth ₹10,000!”

Beauty Review: New York Facial at Lumiere Dermatology

You’re a bride to be. Your wedding date is closing in. In the mad rush of completing your massive checklist, you forgot all about the multiple-facial-sessions you were supposed to “begin 6 months prior to your wedding.” NOW WHAT?!

Well, I’ll let you in on a little secret. If you’re willing to spill some serious dough (think, 20k plus), you can make your skin wedding-ready in under 1 hour. NO JOKES.

What is this thing that makes your skin look great in under 40 minutes?

A facial.

It’s no ordinary facial, mind you. It’s the New York Facial. Done under the care of Dr Kiran Lohia at Lumiere Dermatology.

Beauty Review New York Facial at Lumiere Dermatology Delhi

When the team at Lumiere contacted me offering a session of the NY Facial back in January, I was skeptical, to say the least. You know I’ve only ever gotten 2 facials in my life before this (both during the run up to my wedding in 2012), so I’m not one to experiment Continue reading “Beauty Review: New York Facial at Lumiere Dermatology”

Vendor Review: MUA Supriti Batra

Remember the review I did on MUA Shruti Sharma? I had gotten my hair and makeup done by her for my cousin’s Sangeet, which took place this September. My cousin – Rashi – was the bride, and she looked absolutely stunning on both the functions – her Sangeet & Wedding. She’s a natural beauty, and the hair and makeup just added a touch of glamour to it. I asked her to take some time out of her busy B-school schedule (yes, she got married in the middle of her MBA!) and write a review on her MUA – Supriti Batra.

Wedding App Review: Tanishq Karva Chauth 2013

Tanishq Karva Chauth 2013 app cover photo

You can download the app here.

Tanishq released a Karva Chauth app yesterday, and it made a lot of big claims – it has an inbuilt Chalni, explains all the rituals, and it will be your best buddy through KC. Hmmm…Remember how I used a plastic pencil box made out of net as a Chalni last year when I observed Karva Chauth on my honeymoon? And how my husband & I were absolutely clueless about what rituals are done on this day? This app definitely got me intrigued. Could it have been the savior on my KC attempt last year?

So I hit download and decided to see for myself. Continue reading “Wedding App Review: Tanishq Karva Chauth 2013”

Vendor Review: MUA Shruti Sharma of Monsoon Salon

Shruti Sharma Makeup Artist MUA Monsoon Salon review cover

Edit: I just got to know Shruti no longer works at Monsoon Salon. She’s now freelancing as a makeup artist, and you can get in touch with her at +91-8800578358

I first met Shruti when I had accompanied a bride to be for her makeup trial at Monsoon Salon. Monsoon was (and still is) giving free trials for wedding makeup, and I had suggested we give it a try and see if it’s right for the bride. We met Shruti at Monsoon’s South Ex salon, and my first impression of her was Continue reading “Vendor Review: MUA Shruti Sharma of Monsoon Salon”

Vendor Review: MUA Jr. Artist at Ambika Pillai Punjabi Bagh

Ambika Pillai engagament bridal makeup review

A reader of thedelhibride, Mansi, got engaged this June in New Delhi. She went to Ambika Pillai’s Punjabi Bagh salon to get her engagement hair & makeup done. They charge INR 7,000 for a Junior MUA and INR 12,000 for a Senior MUA (excluding taxes). Mansi chose a Junior Artist, and her experience at the salon was quite good. This is her review of the makeup artist, the hairstylist and Continue reading “Vendor Review: MUA Jr. Artist at Ambika Pillai Punjabi Bagh”
