It doesn’t serve anyone for me to repeat what I’ve already said over a dozen times on the blog, so I will spare you the details of my love for the designs Anita Dongre creates. What’s new, though, is her summer wedding collection that’s written like “Love Notes” to another lucky generation of brides, grooms and wedding guests. The collection was showcased on the ramp at Lakme Fashion Week Summer Resort 2016, and her Love Notes jumped at me like a fresh spring breeze that smelled of bougainvillea and felt like mulmul.
She stuck to her traditional Rajasthani roots with her signature gota patti embroidery, but added another dimension with bougainvillea prints and resham threadwork.
There was plenty to love in the 60+ outfits that made their way down the ramp…
What I Loved
#1 Stitched to perfection anarkalis in white that were finished with floral print borders
#2 How the white canvas on menswear was enhanced using textured fabrics, layering and the occasional embroidered bird motif
The Entire Menswear collection (click on thumbnails to view full images):
#3 These gota patti and threadwork anarkalis
#4 The beautifully designed gota patti blouses
#5 The baby pink lehenga Mira Rajput Kapoor wore to the show
And did you hear she is pregnant?! Is this for real?! Either way, she looked gorgeous in this lehenga – it was one of the outfits that had been seen earlier in the Love Notes launch campaign, that had been released a few weeks before LFW:
Even more pieces to love from her Love Notes campaign
These outfits were not showcased at Lake Fashion Week, but were so stunning I just had to share!
