Unlike Amazon India Fashion Week Autumn/Winter 2016, the recently concluded edition of Lakme Fashion Week did not disappoint. Although it would be unfair to compare an Autumn/Winter collection with a Summer/Resort one!

Anushree Reddy had a combined show with 2 other designers at Lakme Fashion Week this season, which is always a disappointment because we’re always craving to see more AR outfits, not less! Anyway, despite a limited number of pieces, the show gave us exactly what we expected – even more beautiful clothes from the house of Anushree Reddy!

Yes, a lot of it was signature AR style – feminine cuts, pretty pastels and a hint of floral. But she has moved away from OTT floral to just a dash of it in her collection titled “Mughal India” this year. I particularly loved the clean canvas, so that the the beauty of the fabrics (silks, mulmul and cotton) she used shone through.

Editor’s Picks

Nothing extraordinary about this anarkali, but see how the beauty of ivory explodes on the blank canvas. The hints of silver and yellow with a dash of lime green in the piping and lining made this the perfect anarkali to have in your trousseau.

Such a beautiful pastel pink one could very well deem ordinary, but I love the beauty in its simplicity. The colour itself is so stunning, the designer didn’t need to do much else to it – and thank God she didn’t! I must own this. Who’s buying? 😉

Showstopper

Shruti Hasan walked in an ivory chanderi lehenga with scalloped edges and a lily print dupatta. There’s just something about the whole look that works so well! Brides, seriously consider this for your Engagement or Reception.
