It’s fashion week season! While we wait to hear the verdict on Lakme Fashion Week Summer Resort 2016 that kicked off last night, a few designers (both big and small) have decided to launch their collections off the biggest runways. This is the first in a series of posts about new collections to look forward to as we bring in the summer of 2016. If you want to have a look at our favourites from Amazon India Fashion Week Autumn Winter 2016, I’ve uploaded the best outfits onto a Facebook album (instead of an entire post on the blog about it that we typically do every season). Back to Sue Mue’s latest…
Sue Mue is a little known designer wear store in Delhi’s Green Park market. Why is this a market you’ve probably not heard of if you live outside Delhi? Because it’s typically reserved for visits to buy groceries, get a haircut or grab a quick meal at one of the handful of eateries located here. Nothing to talk about, really.
But sitting comfortably in the centre of this South Delhi market is Sue Mue, a designer wear store that looks enticing from the outside but will give any bride second thoughts about entering to do some serious wedding shopping. Why? Because you’d wonder – what could a Green Park store possibly have to offer that’s worth a visit?
As it turns out, a lot more than you can imagine. I’ve mentioned this store on the blog earlier when I visited them for a preview of their 2015 collection, and I was left impressed with the beauty that lay inconspicuously in the middle of an average grocery shopper’s market. I had found a few wedding-worthy pieces, but then forgotten all about Sue Mue. Until last month, when an email popped into my inbox, and it opened up to reveal a gorgeous new summer collection for 2016.
Called Summer Bloom, this romantic collection is more than worthy of a bride’s trousseau – from wedding lehengas to anarkalis for your first year as a newlywed, their Couture line has got it all covered. There are also some pretty designs in their Pret line, and I’ll leave you to ogle at our favourite picks followed by galleries of both the collections.
Editor’s Picks
This bridal lehenga is reminiscent of Sabyasachi’s older couture line, with floral embroidery on an ivory landscape and a baby pink dupatta to add a touch of colour. If you’re up for a wedding lehenga in this palette, this one’s a beauty.
This lime green beauty would look gorgeous on the bride for her Mehendi or even Sangeet! The sister of the bride or groom can also carry it off, considering it isn’t extravagantly heavy.
I love these two for a bride’s trousseau! The ivory anarkali reminds me of the elegant Rohit Bal line, and the blush sari is perfect to wear to a friend’s wedding event.
