THE Vogue Wedding Show kicked off in Delhi this Friday, and if you’re wondering – was it really worth attending? – the answer’s a resounding yes. Of course, it’s a luxury wedding exhibition, so we expected nothing but the best-in-the business designers and jewellery makers at Taj Palace Hotel.

We spent a whole day at Vogue Wedding Show, and covered every inch of it. Not a single stone unturned. Here are the stalls we loved and our favourite pieces from the show! 

Anita Dongre

But first, let me take a selfie 😉

Anita Dongre’s new bridal collection is FABULOUS. It was one of the few that stirred me out of the deep slumber I’ve been in the last 2 weeks, and I was swooning left, right and centre. I may also have told her I got goosebumps looking at the beautiful colours and new designs. While it may be true, it is still an embarrassing thought to have proclaimed out loudly.

Unfortunately, she won’t be showcasing this collection of hers at Lakme Fashion Week this year (she’s showing a very different brand there), and so you can only see these when you visit her stores. Here’s a glimpse at all the beauty!

Anju Modi

Her collection from India Couture Week was available to browse at her stall, and considering there were quite a few pretty bridal outfits you can pick here, it was worth a visit. I particularly loved this blush pink jacket anarkali. Almost put it in my pocket and made a run for it. Almost.

Manish Malhotra

Most of his collection from India Couture Week was here. We already showed you all our top picks in a recent post, and it’s all available in stores now.

Sabyasachi

Ok, so I’m upset with Sabyasachi. Because his team didn’t let us click pictures. Fine, I get it. “Exclusive” and all that. But if wedding bloggers don’t get to share what the biggest bridal wear designers in the country are showcasing, something’s not right. Brides come to the blog to see what’s in store these days, what the new collection looks like before they make a trip all the way to the physical store. So…I don’t get it.

Keeping that aside, I did see the new collection with my “natural camera” and brides, you have some exquisite red Lehengas to choose from. He’s recreated chandelier motifs on one (which was lust-worthy) and a whole other range of red wedding Lehengas. But from what I could spot here, it’s mostly reds. So if you’re planning on wearing red, Sabyasachi is your best bet.

Tarun Tahiliani

We got a first peek at his new Bridal & Couture 2015 collection here, and found a sari we loved. It’s the same sari that’s in our Top Picks from his India Bridal Fashion Week show! Like I said, it looks as beautiful draped on a hanger as it does draped on the model.

Varun Bahl

My favourite continues to be this ivory lehenga. As beautiful in person, as it looked like in the pictures from fashion week.

Vineet Bahl Premiere

While he has not showcased this bridal collection at either of the recent fashion weeks, Vineet Bahl did have a few pieces we loved.

Sunita Shekhawat Jaipur

When we had researched their work for our recent post on Vogue Wedding Show, we’d loved what we’d found online. The real thing? Didn’t disappoint either. Meenakari work seems to be their USP, and they’ve got some beautiful shades of blues, pinks, and greens working their magic onto meenakari jewellery.

Birdhichand Ghanshyamdas

They are a Jaipur-based jewellery store, and they were showcasing their regal-looking Amér collection at the show. I really liked this polki, diamond and emerald cuff.

Diacolor – Fine Contemporary Jewels

Diacolor had some beautiful diamond jewellery, and our favourites had to be the stunning diamond rings – perfect for your engagement!

Wedding Design Company

We’ve written about them before in a post detailing what makes them one of the best wedding planners in the country. If you’re planning a wedding, I highly recommend them. They’re especially amazing at planning destination weddings, and their decor is always a hit. They’re detail oriented, and pretty much the best as what they do.

Decor Ideas! Floral Wall

Spotted a lot of flower walls at Vogue Wedding Show, and this decor idea has been seen everywhere since the Kim-Kanye wedding. Here are two for your inspiration –

The Swarosvki flower wall had Swarovski crystals sporadically embedded to lend a bit of bridal bling to the wall. Swarovski will also make you this crystal monogram for you to use at your wedding party.

Swati & Sunaina | Ekaya

There was a little silk sari party going on over at the Sari Pavillion, and my favourite Ekaya was here with their silk saris in all kinds of bright shades that every young girl wants to get into. Well, and their moms too 🙂 I had seen some of Swati & Sunaina’s silk saris online, and they look like a pretty great place to shop from as well. For Ekaya, you can now visit them at their Defence Colony store to have a look at the saris. Swati & Sunaina’s saris will be available at Taj Bengal in Kolkata next on 18th August.

Mangalmayee Jaipur

It’s a second Janavi! For those of you who don’t know Janavi, it’s a brand we discovered at the first Vogue Wedding Show here in Delhi. It was the first time I saw shawls in bright colours and embroidered beautifully to create something young girls would love to wear to winter weddings. Mangalmayee Jaipur is a second Janavi, and we found wonderfully soft chashmeres and pashminas in bright bridal colours and light embroidery to add a touch of wedding bling.

For The Grooms

We found two light sherwanis we really, really loved. They are minimalistic, because that’s how we like our grooms.

NEW! The Hub

This time around, Vogue decided to add an entire section to the show which recreates a “hub” at a wedding – where you entertain yourself with a tarot card reader, pick up some bangles from the chudiwala and (this is the best bit) unwind with a mini spa massage after all that mingling tires you out.

It was the perfect way to wrap up a great day, and I’m so glad some of the designers have created exciting outfits for brides this year. If you missed out on the show, we’ve mentioned where you can go browse the new collections in Delhi at the end of each designer’s section above in the post.
