Vogue Wedding Show 2015
A luxury wedding exhibition where the vendors are hand-picked by the people behind Vogue magazine. This is it’s 3rd edition. I’ve attended the previous two (and even written about the first one!) and found VWS to be one of the best wedding exhibitions out there.
When & Where
7-9 August, 2015 at Taj Palace Hotel, New Delhi
What’s So Special About It?
- You can breathe here. It’s not suffocatingly crowded like every other wedding exhibition in Delhi is. Since it’s Invite Only, a limited number of visitors are around and you can browse in peace.
- You can buy everything in one place. The best of Indian bridal wear designers and other luxury wedding vendors are all under a single roof! If you’re thinking, “Pfft…I can find that at DLF Emporio too” – no, you can’t. Don’t believe me? Read on.
- Personal Appointments. You can book personal appointments with all your favourite designers during the 3-day show. So if you want to meet Sabyasachi for your wedding lehenga, Anita Dongre for your Sangeet outfit and Shantanu & Nikhil for your Reception gown – you can make it happen! (Why yes, that is my bridal trousseau dream team!)
- Exclusive access. You have a pick of the absolute latest bridal collection, of which some pieces might not even be in stores yet! Last year, I got to see Tarun Tahiliani’s collection before they launched it at India Bridal Fashion Week.
- Masterclasses! So this is something they introduced last year, and I LOVE it! They bring in bridal experts who take short classes at VWS. They give you tips and tricks, and answer all your questions. With the line up they have this year, I can hardly wait for August to get here! 🙂 More details about the classes at the end of this post.
How Can I Attend?
Register on their website, and they will send across a personal invite. Since it’s an Invite Only event, you have to register in advance to be able to enter the show.
What’s In Store This Year?
Note: Please take prior appointments if you want to meet them and talk in detail about your wedding outfit! If you just want to browse, of course, then appointments are not required.

Makeup
By Namrata Soni, Makeup Artist. She is Sonam Kapoor’s go-to makeup artist, and that should be reason enough. She will break down facts and myths, and teach you how to choose the right primers, foundations and powders. Her session will also include lessons on using a variety of eyeliners and colours, combining lipsticks and blush, and wearing make-up that’s ideal for all kinds of events—from a black-tie event to a glamorous wedding.”
Styling
By Anaita Shroff Adajania, Vogue India Fashion Director. The workshop will introduce you to everything you need to know about bridal style, including new-age drapes for the modern bride and what trousseau items to steer clear of. Take Mr. Husband-to-be along because she will cover groom styling as well.
Wellness & Nutrition
By Kinita Kadakia Patel, Nutritionist. Kinita believes in having a “healthy, nutritious diet that is sustainable with realistic goals, not desperate ones.” I’m sold already! She will also cover ways to avoid stress eating.
Skin Care
By Dr Harshna Bijlani, Dermatologist. She will cover all the latest in technologies, treatments and products to have your skin looking its best.
Hair Care
By Savio John Pereira, Celebrity Hairstylist. He will take you through the essentials of personal and professional hair care, complete with an on-stage demonstration. The session will cover diet, skin, fitness, and even emotional stability(!) along with subjects on personal and professional hair care, natural and chemical products. Savio says he will help you chart a month-wise, pre-wedding plan to get fabulous hair.
Wedding Planning
By Vandana Mohan, Wedding Planner. She’s the founder of Wedding Design Company, one of the best wedding planning and decor companies in the country. I attended her masterclass last year, and it gave some insight into the world of wedding planning. No details are available yet about exactly what she’s going to cover this year, but considering how big a topic wedding planning is, a short class might give you just enough insight to get started.
