Currently compiling a Resource Guide to Fashion Weeks for 2014-15: Bridal Edition. This is one of the posts from the series. More fashion-week posts coming up over the next few days.
Lakme Fashion Week just wrapped up a few weeks back, and if you’re a bride to be, looking for your trousseau here can be pretty overwhelming. India Couture Week and India Bridal Fashion Week are simpler – just a few shows, that you can quickly click through pictures of online and figure out what you like. But Lakme Fashion Week?
With 40+ shows and almost 80 designers, where should you even begin looking?
Right here, of course!
I always get stressed out thinking, “Yes, this designer is decent. But what if I’ve missed out on something even better?” So I went through every single outfit presented at Lakme Fashion Week Winter/Festive 2014 to bring to you the best shows. Designers you’ve heard of, and some you haven’t heard of! Making sure you know your options before you step into their stores to shop for your wedding trousseau this season.
Presenting, the best shows from Lakme Fashion Week.
#1 Anita Dongre
Stunning lehengas for the bride who can do without bling-bling-bling. Ethnic, Jaipur bride feel.
#2 Anushree Reddy
Florals and pastels and prettiness. For the super feminine bride.
#3 Gaurang
For your basic trousseau pieces. Earthy feel, great separates (blouses, dupattas and plain anarkalis). Use your imagination to mix and match. Loving the layering!
#4 Marg by Soumitra
Only if you’re not afraid of white. Wearable saris and sherwani-style jackets for women.
#5 Payal Singhal
Contemporary looks to wear to your friend’s wedding and make a style statement.
#6 Ridhi Mehra
Delicate ivory embroidery on deep blues for a royal feel. For the young, trendy and playful bride’s trousseau.
#7 Sanjay Garg
Vibrant splashes of colour from head-to-toe. Fuschia pinks, sea greens and ink blues. Perfect for a bride’s Mehendi outfit.
#8 Shantanu & Nikhil
Classy Reception gowns and sophisticated bridal wear for that dinner party a month after your wedding.
#9 Shehla Khan
Awaiting images. For now, visit Vogue’s website to have a look.
#10 Zara Shahjahan
Blush pinks and pastel yellows. Pick separates for a dash of feminine floral prints in your trousseau.

Thanks, this is v helpful, esp your suggestions about where to wear the different styles. Found out about Anita Dongre through that post you did on them a few years ago and now hoping to wear something AD for my wedding!
Its good that the list features other designers apart from the heavyweights. Or is that because they don’t showcase at LFW?
