Wedding Wardrobe: Samvedna’s Roka

I recently came across one of the most unique roka outfits I’ve ever seen on any bride – ever. It was simple, yet absolutely stunning.
Samvedna, who had her roka this May, had 3 weeks to pick an outfit. She came across Monika Nidhii, a designer wear store in Shahpur Jat, where she tried on this floor-length anarkali in a nude shade. While she loved the design, the colour was not suiting her. She thought it looked too dull on her skin. Thankfully, the store had the same outfit in a more vibrant shade that had been made for another client. It had just arrived at the store that same day to be delivered to the client. Samvedna tried the different shade on, and she loved it so much that she got hers made in the exact same colour!

The floor-length anarkali from Monika Nidhii looks more like a gown (courtesy the almost bare shoulders) – it’s quite Indo-western that way. The gold work across the shoulder is so prettily done, there’s no denying how beautiful her outfit looked.

And the price? INR 20,000! Which I personally think is a great price to spend on your roka outfit. You should leave the big-spending for your wedding day lehenga.
