Day 3. I loved the Garden of Eden feel of the show, the music (was it jazz?) and the romanticism of floral headpieces, soft wavy hair and golden eyes. It felt like you’re floating in a dream. Unfortunately, the clothes didn’t add to that dream, they took away from it. Some pieces looked absolutely hideous – OTT bling, no clear lines – not the kind of clothes I would wear myself. But there was a gem or two in there.

I LOVED this shimmery net sari. Very bridal, very Reception-wear worthy. You would look STUNNING in a sari like this! And the blouse complements it perfectly.
This pristine white ensemble with silver gotha work at the borders of mutli-layered anarkali and intricate delicate embroidery looks pretty in the picture. It didn’t stand out during the show. It will be worn best with similar kind of makeup – bright lips, and if you can – flowers in your hair!

Showstopper
Neha Dhupia entered to Adele singing Skyfall in the background. She wore a Chantilly lace and velvet, double layered evening gown with a crafted metal sheet attached to the waist of the outfit. It was a floor sweeping evening gown which had a big motif on the sheer back. I didn’t like it.
The Official Version
Falguni and Shane peacock, the husband and wife designer duo, have already created stirs in the global market and have an impressive clientele which includes Madonna, Britney spears, Katy Perry, Fergie, Rihanna just to name a few. They presented their awe-inspiring collection, Garden of Eden, which is an amalgamation of colour, textures and vivid embellishments on Day 3 of India Bridal Week. As the title of the collection suggests, they derived their inspiration from the most natural and beautiful creations of time by travelling to Monaco, Nice and the gardens of Lake Como in Europe. The idea was to capture the beauty of the flora and the natural environment of the European gardens.
The backdrop of the beautiful set was laden with lots of dry flowers which stood significant of their entire journey starting from inspiration to the final conceived collection. The designers took the audiences on a fairytale journey and finally to some fashion paradise with their extravagant bridal and evening gowns, full ghagras, anarkalis, farshi pyjamas, kalidaar saris teamed with bustier, halters and shrugs. “We have worked on each piece for IBFW individually to replicate the beauty and movement of a nature in a contemporary form”, commenting on their collection for Bridal Week. A lot of shimmery net sarees and floor sweeping layered net anarkalis with sheer backs were part of the subtle yet very trendy and elegant collection of Falguni and Shane Peacock. Basically, it was a play of floral motifs, vintage laces and delicate feathers amalgamated with net, chiffon and georgettes that were beautifully incorporated in the mesmerizing collection of the designer duo. Applique work was also seen on the lehengas with 3D floral motifs. Even the big rubies and emeralds studded diamond neckpieces donned by the models were very tastefully chosen to complement the whole look. The audience just couldn’t overlook the use of long jackets on multi-layered anarkalis in soft pastel colours like peach, green and pink. The models strutted in Chantilly lace, floor sweeping evening gowns attached with net stoles in the hues of pink, red and hot pink along with a lot of shimmer effect.
