A few days before my wedding, my Bua and Dadi came over to my house bearing wedding gifts – two beautiful saris!
I was floored with both the saris – they were so pretty! And then my Bua told me – “I designed them!” Whaaaaat? I knew Bua had always had a keen sense of fashion – she’s usually the best dressed woman in the room. But her own clothing line?! Yup, I’m a lucky niece 🙂
RAS was launched in 2012, shortly before my own wedding. If it had started earlier, my trousseau shopping would’ve been so stress-free! Ah, well.
The great thing about RAS is customisation according to your budget. You tell RAS owner & designer – Rashmi Aparna Shekhar – what your budget is, and she’ll create the look you want within that budget. And the best thing is how reasonable the pricing is. If you’re a bride to be, or even a wedding guest, you should consider getting yourself a RAS creation. Easy on the pocket, AND on the eyes 🙂 Anarkalis and suits start at INR 4,000, saris at INR 3,000 and lehengas are priced upwards of INR 7,000 (of course, the heavier the work and the more material required – the price goes up accordingly.)
Another pretty awesome thing I noticed was her willingness to give you what you want. I got blouses stitched by her, and they had the perfect neckline and back. What I mean is – I told her I wanted the blouse to be “this deep in the front” and “this deep in the back” and I got exactly what I asked for. Which, if you live in Delhi, you know is a big deal. How many times have you told that tailor or designer that you want it to begin at 7 inches, and they end up giving you 9? It is SO frustrating! RAS was a refreshing change 🙂

In the interest of full disclosure, I was provided a lunch of chicken gravy and rice after the photoshoot. This review may, or may not, have been tampered with while the taste of the delicious curry was still lingering in my mouth.

We have been trying for a while to contact this vendor through their Facebook page. But, for some reasons we could not. We are interested in the red with golden wedding lehenga in their FB page. If they ship outside India, I like to know the price of that whole outfit along with the fabric used ? I asked for the fabric due to religious reasons. I am not giving out my email address here.
